What Is DDP?
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means that import duties and taxes are paid in advance before shipment.
For a full explanation, please refer to the following article:
Scope
DDP shipping currently applies only to the following shipments:
Destination: United States
Shipping method: FedEx
Shipments outside of this scope will continue to be shipped under DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) terms.
Change
For shipments within the scope above:
Before: DDU (duties/taxes paid by the customer after arrival)
After: DDP (duties/taxes prepaid at checkout)
This change is intended to reduce delivery delays and unexpected charges after shipment.
Why DDP Is Required & Its Benefits
Due to recent changes in customs enforcement and carrier handling procedures, many destinations now require prepayment of duties and taxes to ensure smooth delivery.
Using DDP helps to:
Prevent packages from being held by customs
Avoid unexpected payment requests from carriers
Reduce delivery delays caused by customs processing
Avoid high courier processing or brokerage fees
Provide clearer costs upfront
This applies regardless of item value.
How Import Duties & Taxes Are Calculated
Import duties and taxes are not a fixed percentage.
They are calculated based on factors such as:
HS (Harmonized System) codes
Item category and material
Country of origin
Declared value
Local customs regulations
Because of this, the final amount may differ by item, even within the same shipment.
US-Specific Information
For US-bound shipments, additional tariffs or taxes (such as IEEPA-related measures) may apply depending on the item category.
You can check estimated US import tariffs by HS code using the following tool:
https://tariffs.flexport.com/
⚠️ This tool is for reference only. The amount charged in the charge 2 may vary.
How Does DDP Work?
When you ship your package with a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid):
- At checkout, we calculate the estimated import duties and taxes based on your package value and contents
- You pay these fees upfront, along with your shipping costs
- Your package clears customs quickly without delays
- You receive your package with no additional charges to pay
⚠️ Even when duties and taxes are paid, product-specific import documentation may still be required to clear customs and must be submitted by the recipient.
How DDP Charges Appear (Charge 2)
DDP-related duties and taxes are included within the Charge 2 payment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is DDP mandatory?
For shipments within the current scope (US + FedEx), DDP is required.

What if I refuse to pay DDP fees?
Shipments that require DDP cannot be shipped without prepayment of custom duties and fees.
Will I have to pay any extra customs duties or fees when receiving my item?
No.
With DDP shipments, we will calculate and charge these fees in advance. Should there be a difference between the amount charged by customs in your country, and the amount we charge you, we will not ask you to cover the extra payment. Conversly, we will also not be able to offer any refund.
Does DDP guarantee customs clearance?
No.
DDP covers payment of custom duties and fees, but customs inspections may still occur, and prohibited or restricted items may be rejected.
Important Notes
DDP fees are calculated based on available customs data at the time of shipment
Duty and tax rules may change without notice
Always declare accurate item values and descriptions
Check prohibited and restricted items before shipping
